This photograph shows a standing book cover. Bright leather has been used as the cover material. The spine features five raised bands. The front section of the cover is decorated with beam knife markings and blind embossing. These lines form a border that is divided into several smaller sections. The individual fields feature blind-embossed stamps of scrolls, lilies and roses. The title has been branded into the outer edge of the cover and runs across the border in Textura script: “Marci Tulli Ciceronis epistole fa”. The right side of the front cover features two decorated bronze clasps which are used to close the book cover.
