A crowd of people is standing in front of a building. Above the main entrance to the building is inscribed “F.A. Brockhaus”. In the centre is a woman sitting on and chained to a large pile of newspapers and a large bird is pecking at her heart. To her left is standing a bishop, a soldier and other well-dressed men. On the right-hand side are some men holding a flag with the inscription “The Free” as well as another man in chains with two guards. At the far left, the crying figure of Hermes is sitting on a further pile of newspapers. Alongside him can be seen Heinrich Brockhaus, the publisher of the Leipziger Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper. Under picture 19 are verses set in three columns.
